Dr. Tracy Kitchel

Dr. Tracy Kitchel grew up on a hog and crop farm in western Ohio.  He attended The Ohio State University, earning his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agricultural Education in 1998 and 1999, respectively. He spent three years teaching high school agriculture for Archbold Area Schools in northwest Ohio before returning to college to complete his Ph.D. in Agricultural Education from the University of Missouri in 2005.

He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky from 2005-2010 before returning to the University of Missouri as an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies. In March 2015, he was appointed Assistant Vice Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs at the University of Missouri. Dr. Kitchel was appointed Professor and the ninth Department Chair for ACEL on August 1, 2016, which gave him the opportunity to return to his Buckeye roots. On August 1, 2019, he was appointed as CFAES associate dean for faculty and staff affairs.
