2020 ACEL Distinguished Seniors

The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership has named 10 students to the second class of ACEL Distinguished Seniors in 2020. These students were selected by the faculty and staff of the Department for their excellence both in and out of the classroom.

News Release: Baldwin completes internship with Ohio State University Extension

Dec. 6, 2019

Trent Baldwin, of Salinas, California, recently completed an internship with the Ashtabula County Ohio State Extension in Jefferson, Ohio.

During his internship, Baldwin used his skills to coordinate and run Cloverbud Camp, facilitate 4-H Camp and assist with STEM enrichment. In addition, he also organized materials for the Ashtabula County Fair and assisted with Ohio State Fair planning.

News Release: Ritter completes internship with GC2 Ministries

Dec. 4, 2019

Kayla Ritter, of Brookville, recently completed an internship with GC2 Ministries in San Rafael, Heredia, Costa Rica.

During her internship, Ritter used her communication skills to coordinate community events such as a women’s retreat, vacation Bible schools and sporting events. She also taught English and lead Bible studies, implementing her public speaking and leadership skills.

Beach completes internship with Hancock County Agricultural Society

Schelby Beach, of Forest, recently completed an internship with Hancock County Agricultural Society in Findlay, Ohio.

During her internship, Beach used her communication skills to manage the organization’s social media platforms and website. In addition to building her computer and digital marketing skills, she also improved her customer service skills, as she provided community support when needed.

Augustine completes internship with Ohio State ATI

Nov. 25, 2019

Samantha Augustine, of Loudonville, recently completed an internship with the Ohio State ATI Admissions Office in Wooster, Ohio.

During her internship, Augustine used her communication skills to assist in event planning for the incoming student orientation, organized 2019-2020 Admissions events and assisted in the management of the ATI Admissions communication plan. 

Matthews completes internship with American Farm Bureau Federation

Nov. 22, 2019

Ryan Matthews, of Leesburg, recently completed an internship with the American Farm Bureau Federation in Washington D.C.

During his internship, Matthews used his communication skills to assist in a range of projects. He worked on event planning for workshops, printing and compiling Discussion Meet competitor packets and creating a collegiate Farm Bureau handbook. He also worked on social media campaigns to encourage member engagement.
