Snider to complete internship with The Fatted Calf

Carley Snider, of Moscow, will complete an internship this summer with The Fatted Calf in Magdalena, Mexico.

During the internship, Snider will work with children ages 6-18 at Casa Vida y Esperanza, a children’s home, in Magdalena, Sonora, Mexico. She will help children prepare livestock projects for the EXPO Esperanze, a 4-H like “fair” held each year at the children’s home. In addition to working with the livestock projects, Snider will also teach cooking and electricity classes to the children and help with the organization and execution of the fair event.

Five seniors recognized by CFAES at banquet

Five seniors from the Department of Agricutlrual Communication, Education, and Leadership were recognized at the annual CFAES Recognition Program on Thursday, April 8, 2016.

Seniors Devon Alexander, Jordan Bonham, Shelby Faulkner, Brooke Rieke Schanowski, and Demi Snider were selected via a competitive process, and are evaluated on excellence and demonstrated personal and professional growth in the areas of academic scholarship, student organization leadership, and involvement in the university and the broader community.

Agunga earns undergraduate research mentor award

Dr. Robert Agunga was recognized as a Distinguished Undergraduate Research mentor (DURM) by the Undergraduate Research Office. He is a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education and Leadership.

This award, founded in 2007, is to recognize the clinical and research faculty, lecturers, post-doctoral researchers, and graduate students who also contribute extraordinary guidance to the undergraduate students who work with them.

ACEL students receive study abroad scholarships

More than $10,000 in study abroad scholarships were awarded to nine students in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership by the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.
