  2. Students named to CFAES Dean's List

    The following 74 undergraduate students in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership were named to the 2018 Spring Semester Dean’s List for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Additionally, 24 students earned a 4.0 GPA.

  3. Ohio State’s AgriNaturalist named top student produced magazine

    The 2017 AgriNaturalist was named the top magazine produced by students by the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association (NAADA) at the 2018 national conference.

    The AgriNaturalist is an annual magazine produced by students in the agricultural communication major as a capstone project. It is also the longest running agricultural student publication in the United States, with the 2017 issue being the 123rdedition.

  4. Rumble hired as assistant professor of agricultural communication

    The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) at The Ohio State University is pleased to share that Dr. Joy Rumble has accepted a position with our department as an assistant professor in agricultural communication. Rumble’s tenure home will be with ACEL on the Columbus campus, but her location of work will be at the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Science’s ATI campus in Wooster, Ohio. Rumble will begin in her position on August 15, 2018.

  5. ACEL student wins national track and field title

    Zack Bazile, a senior studying agricultural communication, won the national title in men's long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This was the first championship for Ohio State's track and field program in 25 years. He set a program and career-best record with a 8.37m (27ft 5.5in) jump.

    The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) awarded more than $53,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students at the annual banquet on April 2, 2018.

  7. Newlon to receive national graduate teaching award from NACTA

    Kelly Newlon, a doctoral student in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education and Leadership (ACEL), has been named a recipient of the North American Colleges of Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Graduate Student Teaching Award. This award recognizes graduate students who excel as teachers in the agricultural disciplines and will be presented at the NACTA Annual Conference in Ames, Iowa this June.

    Dr. Robert Agunga, associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education and Leadership (ACEL) in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) has been awarded a grant for $455,239 from The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.
