  2. Rodriguez elected as president-elected of AIAEE

    Dr. Mary Rodriguez, assistant professor of community leadership, has been elected president-elect of the Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education (AIAEE) for 2021-2022. 

    She will take over leadership of the organization at the 2022 annual conference, which is scheduled to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece in April 2022.

    AIAEE is a professional organization for agricultural and extension educators who share a common goal of strengthening agricultural and extension education programs and institutions worldwide.

  3. ACEL undergraduates complete in research forums

    Undergraduate students from the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) competed in two undergraduate research forums at The Ohio State University. The University’s Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum and the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Undergraduate Research Forum were both held virtually during the first week of April. 

  4. ACEL names 2021 Distinguished Seniors

    The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) has named 14 students to the third class of ACEL Distinguished Seniors in 2021. These students were selected by the faculty and staff of the Department for their excellence both in and out of the classroom. 

  5. Ohio State agriscience education seniors complete student teaching around Ohio

    Each year the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education and Leadership (ACEL) at the Ohio State University sends students to high schools around the state for 12 weeks to gain real world experience in the classroom. This year, 22 agricultural education programs welcomed student teachers who are seniors in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) and agriscience education majors. 

  6. McMullen selected to serve on Agriculture Future of America Student Advisory Team

    Nicole McMullen, a junior agriscience education major at The Ohio State University, has been selected to be a member of the Agriculture Future of American (AFA) Student Advisory Team. The Student Advisory Team is made up of 11 students from across the nation after a competitive application process.

  7. Twelve ACEL Buckeyes graduate

    This past Sunday, Ohio State held it's 426th Commencement Ceremony (and third virtual ceremony). 

    Our department had eight undergraduate students and six graduate students complete their degrees at the end of Autumn Semester 2020.

  8. Rumble named Ohio State ATI Outstanding Advisor

    Congratulations to Dr. Joy Rumble, assistant professor of agricultural communication, for being named the recipient of the Ohio State ATI Outstanding Advisor award.

    Rumble advises ACEL students who attend our CFAES Wooster campus and teaches several of our agricultural communication undergraduate and graduate courses at both the Wooster and Columbus campuses.

    Rumble joined the ACEL faculty in 2018. She is a three time graduate of Ohio State, which includes a master's degree in agricultural communication from our department.

  9. McMullen places first in regional interview contest

    Nicole McMullen, a junior studying agriscience education, earned the top award in the interview contest during the virtual Region V Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) Cluster. She will represent Ohio State and Region V at the National MANRRS Conference this spring.

    MANRRS is a national society of people of all racial and ethnical groups in agricultural and related science careers with a focus on promoting these fields in a positive manner among ethnic minorities.

  10. Landaverde receives international fellowship

    Rafael Quijada Landaverde, graduate associate and doctoral student in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) at The Ohio State University was named one of seven recipients of the Kirchner Food Fellowship.
