1. Bennett to complete internship with Beck’s Hybrids

    Meghan Bennett, of Houston, will complete a marketing internship this summer with Beck’s Hybrids in Atlanta, Indiana.

    During the internship, Bennett will develop press releases, coordinate media events, write in Beck’s monthly newsletter, create social media posts, gather product testimonials and create copy for advertising materials. She will also be challenged to write a weekly blog post on the Beck’s Blog regarding her internship experience.

    Blake Spitznagel, of Mt. Orab, will complete a graphic design internship with Ohio State’s Office of Student Life Recreational Sports this summer.

  3. Gress to complete internship with Ohio Department of Agriculture

    ­Eileen  Gress, of Shreve, Ohio, will complete an internship this summer with the Ohio Department of Agriculture Communications Office in Columbus, Ohio.

    Gress will be working on a variety of graphic design projects, including infographics for social media use and designing materials for the Ohio State Fair and Farm Science Review. She will also be responsible for generating content for the blog “The Dirt” ( and gain valuable knowledge on media relations and preparing materials to the media.

    ACEL faculty and students have embarked on a lasting partnership with the city of Choluteca, Honduras and surrounding communities.  What began with a fact-finding, planning trip by Dr. Jamie Cano and graduate student W. T. Agner in the spring of 2013 has grown over the past year into multiple humanitarian projects, an exceptional study abroad experience, and the promise of more alliances to come.

  6. Penhorwood to complete internship with Agri Communicators, Inc.

    Joel Penhorwood will complete a summer internship with Agri Communicators, Inc., parent company of Ohio’s Country Journal and The Ohio Ag Net. His time will be split between the two affiliated companies working in both print and radio reporting and production.

    While working for the print side of the company, Penhorwood will write stories on a wide range of topics from production agriculture to FFA and human interests. His stories will be used for both print and web content.

  7. Beck to complete internship with Ohio Farm Bureau Federation

    Hayley Beck, of Norwalk, will complete an internship this summer with the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) in Columbus, Ohio.

    During her internship, Beck will assist OFBF staff with the Land and Living exhibit for the Ohio State Fair by coordinating exhibit design and staff, and coordinate media relations. She will also assist OFBF in development and implementation of a youth agricultural education program to complement the Land and Living exhibit.

  8. Wallace to complete internship with Wilt PR

    Nicole Wallace, of Gibsonburg, Ohio, will complete a summer internship with Wilt PR in Springfield, Ohio.

    During her internship, Wallace will get a diverse, hands-on experience with a wide variety of agriculture-related client accounts. She will be writing, working with the media, researching trends and issues, as well as managing social media, projects, and events planning.

    She will also gain leadership skills as she leads a project that will place farmers in local civic clubs around the state to drive discussions about many facets of agricultural production.

  9. Stacy to complete internship with Ohio Bioproducts Innovation Center

    Jordan Stacy, of Enon, is currently completing a summer internship with Ohio Bioproducts Innovation Center (OBIC) in Columbus, Ohio. OBIC is located at The Ohio State University and connects different segments of the bioproducts community to nurture business ecosystems and facilitate commercialization of new sustainable bioproduct technologies.

  10. Annie Specht Joins ACEL
