Whittington receives national teaching award

Dr. Susie Whittington was awarded the NACTA Teaching Award of Excellence at the June 2015 NACTA Conference held at the University of Georgia in Athens.

The NACTA Teaching Award of Excellence is presented to one individual each year who demonstrates excellence in post-secondary instruction in agriculture. This award recognizes Dr. Whittington for her international level of commitment, excellence, and scholarship in college teaching.  

Dr. Whittington is a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership at The Ohio State University. She directs a Hatch research project, “Improving the Cognitive Capacity of Students by Fully Engaging Professors in the Teaching and Learning Process.” Those efforts have been awarded the Author of the Year from the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAEA), and the E.B. Knight and Jack Everly Outstanding Journal Article Awards from the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture.

Dr. Whittington received her B.S., M.S., and PhD in agricultural education at The Ohio State University.
