Two students from The Ohio State University Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) have been selected to serve as Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Ambassadors for the upcoming year. Leah Herring and Kennedy Auker are among 41 student leaders chosen from campuses across the country to represent AFA and help connect peers to leadership and career opportunities in agriculture.
Herring is an agricultural communication major on the Columbus campus. Auker is an agricultural communication at Ohio State ATI in Wooster.
The AFA Ambassador Program equips students to shape the future of the agriculture industry by serving as a bridge between AFA and the next generation of agricultural professionals. Ambassadors work closely with AFA to set personal and campus outreach goals and receive individualized coaching to develop creative strategies for engaging students.
Designed for student leaders who believe in the power of connection, the program emphasizes real-world leadership development, marketing skills and industry engagement. Through their roles as Ambassadors, Herring and Auker will help foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for students exploring agricultural careers and leadership pathways.
The AFA Ambassador Program is made possible through the continued partnership of the CHS Foundation, which supports scholarships, training and travel while expanding access to meaningful leadership development opportunities for students nationwide.
