Meyer selected as one of 12 for AFA Student Advisory Team

Dec. 11, 2025

Adrianna Meyer, an community leadership major in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL), has been named to the 2026 Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Student Advisory Team, joining an elite group of 12 student leaders from across the nation.

The AFA Student Advisory Team plays a critical role in shaping student experiences and fostering leadership within the agriculture industry. Over the next year, Adrianna and her peers will dedicate their time to supporting fellow students, creating inclusive environments, and advancing industry growth—ensuring AFA continues to develop the talent agriculture needs to thrive.

“Serving as an SAT member will allow me to expose other college students to the valuable connections and experiences that AFA has to offer,” said Meyer. “For me, this role is all about getting others excited to be a part of the agriculture industry and community.”

As part of the Student Advisory Team, Adrianna will take on real-world leadership responsibilities, including facilitating sessions, supporting event execution, and guiding peers through professional development opportunities. This role demands strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a deep commitment to servant leadership.

“These students represent the very best in food and agriculture,” said Michael Curry, AFA Program Manager for Student Leaders and Selection. “They were selected because they consistently demonstrate character, curiosity, and a servant-leader mindset.”

During their year of service, the team will lead AFA Leader Institutes, host the AFA Leaders Conference, and engage with industry partners to strengthen connections between students and agricultural professionals.
