Audrey Hoey, of Chillicothe, completed an internship this summer with ADM Grain in Farmer City, Illinois.
During the internship, Hoey was responsible for buying corn and soybeans from farmers in central Illinois and selling to processors, writing contracts and assisting farmers with their marketing strategies and reaching out to farmers through emails tailored to their farm needs.
She also had the opportunity to tour ADM facilities such as the North American Headquarters in Decatur, Illinois and the Government Relations office in Washington, D.C. and network with ADM colleagues throughout the company at events and meetings throughout the summer.
Hoey returned to Ohio State in August to complete her degree in community leadership, with a specialization in community and extension education. She is the daughter of Ben and Kelly Hoey and a graduate of Zane Trace High School.
The community leadership major prepares Extension educators to lead positive change in their communities.
