The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership will welcome two full-time lecturers to the team this autumn with the recent hires of Dr. Javonne Mullins and Brett Baughman.
Dr. Javonne Mullins will serve as a lecturer in formal and non-formal education and will teach Oral Expression in Agriculture, Methods of Non-Formal Education, and a collection of courses in the agriscience education program.
Dr. Mullins earned her B.S. degree in agricultural education from Ohio State, an M.S. degree in agricultural education from Oklahoma State, an M.A. in speech-language pathology, and recently completed her Ph.D. in agricultural education at the University of Missouri. She brings eight years of experience as an agriscience educator in Ohio and California, as well as one year at the Ohio Department of Education. For the past four years, she has served as an assistant professor of agriculture at Wilmington College.
Brett Baughman joins us as a lecturer in professional leadership and career preparation. He will teach Foundations of Personal and Professional Leadership, Volunteer and Human Resource Management, and will coordinate several internship courses for the department.
Baughman earned a B.S. degree in environment, economy, development, and sustainability from Ohio State, a Master of Science in agricultural communication, education, and leadership from our department, and is currently completing his Ph.D. He brings four years of corporate project management and marketing experience to the position and has served for the past seven years as the manager of the Environment and Natural Resources Scholars Program in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at Ohio State.
We are excited to welcome both Dr. Mullins and Mr. Baughman to our department this fall.
