Hayley Beck, of Norwalk, will complete an internship this summer with the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) in Columbus, Ohio.
During her internship, Beck will assist OFBF staff with the Land and Living exhibit for the Ohio State Fair by coordinating exhibit design and staff, and coordinate media relations. She will also assist OFBF in development and implementation of a youth agricultural education program to complement the Land and Living exhibit.
“When looking for interns for our Land and Living Exhibit at the Ohio State Fair, Hayley stood out,” said Sandy Kuhn, Director of Education and Industry Outreach with OFBF. “She served as an ambassador for Ohio Farm Bureau in the building last year and came to us with not only experience but the drive and ambition to make this year's exhibits and visitor's experience even better.”
Beck will return to Ohio State in to begin her senior year in August, where she studies agricultural communication. She is the daughter of Scott and Rebecca Beck and is a graduate of Western Reserve High School.
The agricultural communication major at Ohio State prepares students to plan, develop, and implement a communication campaign, using visual media, writing and editing. Students study crisis communication, graphic design, marketing, and journalism so they can spread the word about agriculture.
