The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) has named nine students to the 2025 class of ACEL Outstanding Seniors. These students were selected by the faculty and staff of the department for their excellence both in and out of the classroom.
2025 ACEL Outstanding Seniors include:
Jared Dunn, an agriscience education major from Camden, Ohio
Elizabeth Fannin, an agricultural communication major from Jackson, Ohio
Samantha Graber, agricultural communication major from Liberty Center, Ohio
Karlee Knapke, an agriscience education major from Coldwater, Ohio
Matthew Koverman, an agriscience education major from Minford, Ohio
Douglas Reer, an agriscience education major from Shelby, Ohio
Ashley Tate, agricultural communication major from Shreve, Ohio
Koren Truance, an agriscience education major from Vinton, Ohio
Lillian Wagner, an agriscience education major from Marion, Ohio
“These nine outstanding seniors have demonstrated excellence both in and out of the classroom, excelling academically while making a meaningful impact through leadership, service, and experiential learning,” said Dr. Shannon Washburn, professor and chair for ACEL. “Their dedication to the field of agricultural communication, education, and leadership exemplifies the core values of our department, and we are proud to recognize them as ACEL Outstanding Seniors."
Those selected for the 2025 Outstanding Senior award will graduate in the 2025 calendar year. They will be recognized at the department’s annual banquet on April 17, 2025 at the Ohio 4-H Center on Ohio State’s Columbus campus.
ACEL prepares communicators, educators and leaders in the food, agricultural, and environmental sciences to integrate research-based learning, practice and engagement, in ways that will advance positive changes that strengthen individuals, families and communities.
