Faculty and staff from the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership were recognized for their outstanding contributions with awards received at local, national, and international conferences throughout the summer and autumn semesters. These honors celebrate excellence in teaching, research, outreach, and service, highlighting the department’s impact within the agricultural communication, education, and leadership professions and beyond. Their achievements reflect a dedication to innovation, scholarship, and the advancement of their profession.
- Faith Oster and Nicole Volk, master’s students, received the Graduate Teaching Award by the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA)
- Dr. Susie Whittington, professor of agriscience education, received the Murray Brown Leadership Award by NACTA
- Sudarshan Adhikari, doctorate student, received the Distinguished Oral Presentation award by the Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education (AIAEE).
- Dr. Cara Lawson, assistant professor of agricultural communication, was named a member of the 2024-2025 CFAES Strategic Alignment for Research Success (STARS) cohort.
- Dr. Jera Niewoehner-Green, associate professor of community leadership, was awarded the Northouse Outstanding Teaching Award by the Association of Leadership Educators (ALE).
- Dr. Amanda Bowling, associate professor of agriscience education, was awarded the USDA Early Career Teaching Award at the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU).
