Ohio State’s Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) has eight alumni as finalists for the 2024-2025 Golden Owl Award. This award honors agricultural educators across Ohio for their tremendous contributions to helping the next generation of agricultural leaders.
More than 120 agricultural educators across Ohio were nominated by students, faculty and community members nominated the teachers.
Alexis Howell ’19, ’23 MS is the agricultural educator at Evergreen High School. She is the nominee for District 1.
Jaime Chenevey ’99, ’05 MS is the agricultural educator at West Holmes High School. She is the nominee for District 2.
The District 5 nominee is Alison Derringer ’07. She is the agricultural educator with Twin Valley South-MVCTC FFA.
Kris Guthrie ’89, agricultural educator with Ridgedale FFA is the District 6 nominee.
Tom Holton ’86 MS is the agricultural educator with East Knox FFA. He is the District 7 nominee.
Laura Kackley ’05, agricultural educator with Meadowbrook FFA is the District 8 nominee.
The District 9 nominee is Jamie Loudon ’99. He is the agricultural educator with Georgetown FFA.
Haley Davis ’20 is an agricultural educator at New Lexington High School. She is the nominee for District 10.
The Golden Owl Award is presented by Nationwide in partnership with Ohio FFA, Ohio Farm Bureau, Farm Credit Mid-America and AgCredit, ACA.
