The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) at The Ohio State University is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Alumni Awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to the profession, mentorship, and leadership within the agricultural community.
The ACEL Alumni Award Program highlights alumni who are making a difference in their careers, communities, and in the Ohio State community. With three award categories – Mentor to Students, Young Alumni, and Distinguished Alumni – the program celebrates alumni who demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, and professional achievement.
Young Alumni Award
This award honors early-career alumni who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement and leadership. The 2026 recipients are:

Mentor to Students Award
This award recognizes alumni who have made a significant impact as mentors, guiding the next generation of agricultural leaders. The 2026 honorees are:

Distinguished Alumni Award
This award honors alumni who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the agricultural industry and their communities. The 2026 recipients are:

Dr. Rick Rudd, B.S. in agricultural education, 1985; M.S. in agricultural education 1988
“These alumni exemplify the spirit of leadership, mentorship, and professional excellence that our department strives to instill in every student,” said Dr. Kameron Rinehart, chair of the ACEL Alumni Board. “Their accomplishments inspire current and future students, and we are honored to recognize their contributions to the agricultural community.”
The awards were presented during the ACEL Annual Banquet on April 21, 2026, at The Ohio State University.
