The Agricultural and Extension Education (AEE) graduate program in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Science, Master of Education, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degrees conferred by the Graduate School of The Ohio State University. While obtaining a degree in Agricultural and Extension Education, students may specialize in one of five areas:
- Agricultural Communication (master's degree only)
- Agricultural Education
- Community and Extension Education
- International Development
- Leadership (master's degree only)
The Master of Science degree is offered in a traditional face-to-face format for on-campus students and at a distance through an on-line program designed for agricultural teachers, Extension personnel, and agriculture industry leadership professionals. The master’s degree is designed to prepare graduates for teaching, research, extension, communication, administrative, and leadership positions in the public and private sectors.
The Doctor of Philosophy degree prepares students for careers as administrators, specialists, university faculty, and researchers.
ACEL also offers a graduate minor in Social Science Research Methods.
