Internships and Careers

All students in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) are required to complete an internship as part of their degree program, including those studying agricultural communication and community leadership. Students studying agriscience education fulfill this requirement through the student teaching experience, but are encouraged to seek internship opportunities as well.

Internship opportunities can be found in multiple places, including Handshake at The Ohio State University and the ACEL Nutshell, which is a weekly student newsletter emailed to students each Wednesday and available on the ACEL blog.

In the past year, our students have interned at: American Dairy Association Mideast, American Farm Bureau, Certified Angus Beef, Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, GC2 Ministries, Hancock Agricultural Society, Northwestern Mutual, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Ohio Beef Council, Ohio Cattlemen's Association, Ohio's Country Journal/Ohio Ag Net, Ohio Expo and State Fair, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, Ohio Grape Industries Committee, Ohio Quarter Horse Association, Ohio Soybean Council, Ohio State Alumni Association, Ohio State ATI, Ohio State Extension - Delaware County, Ohio State Extension - Tuscarawas County, Ohio State's STEAM Factory, Ohio State's Sustainability Institute, Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center, Plaskolite, Select Sires, Southern Ohio Showdown, United Producers Inc., United State's Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties, and more!
