Master's Degree Programs

ACEL offers three Master's Degrees: A Master of Education (M.Ed.) for those interested in earning certification to teach in a K-12 environment, an online Master of Science (M.S.) and an in-person Master of Science (M.S.). ACEL only admits one time per year for all graduate degrees. Applications open in August and close December 1 for admission the following autumn. Online Master of Science

Our online Master of Science (MS) in Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) is completely online with no in-person requirements. Students who earn their MS in ACEL have the opportunity to specialize in Agricultural Communication, Agricultural Education, Community and Extension Education, International Development, or Leadership. Our M.S. studnets may select either a thesis or a project to complete the degree in addition to program coursework. Please see our MS Curriculum Worksheet or the ACEL Graduate Program Handbook. Online students are not eligible for associateship or fellowship consideration.

in-person Master of Science 

Our Master of Science (MS) in Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) just underwent an extensive curriculuar revision. Students who earn their MS in ACEL have the opportunity to specialize in Agricultural Communication, Agricultural Education, Community and Extension Education, International Development, or Leadership. Our M.S. studnets may select either a thesis or a project to complete the degree in addition to program coursework. Full-time students who wish to be considered for funding for the 2021-2022 academic year, should submit their application by December 1, 2021.

Masters of Education (M.Ed.)

The M.Ed.program helps qualified candidates earn licensure in adherence with the licensure requirements for the State of Ohio. This two-year program can be completed in four or five semesters and includes a student teaching component. Please see the M.Ed. Curriculum Sheet for more information.
