  1. Buck presented award, faculty active at AAAE Conference

    At the annual conference of the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE), Dr. Emily Buck, associate professor in agricultural communication, was presented with the AAAE Distinguished Agricultural Communication Education award.

    This award recognizes an individual AAAE member for outstanding accomplishments in teaching, research and/or extension in agriculture communication education. This was the second year for this award to be presented.

    Kelse Brown, of Edgerton, Ohio, was recently selected as a National Teach Ag Ambassador, an outreach program of the National Council for Agricultural Education, led by the National Association of Agricultural Educators to promote the agricultural education profession.

  5. ACEL students participate in CFAES Undergraduate Research Forum

    Students from the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) competed in the annual CFAES Undergraduate Student Research Forum on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. 

    Shelby Balint, a senior in agriscience education from Huron, Ohio, presented her research titled "Perception of Preservice Teachers' Toward Preparation to Teach the Science of Agriculture."

    Megan Besancon, a senior in agricultural communication from Sterling, Ohio, presented her research titled "A Comparative Analysis of Agricultural Hashtags on Twitter."

  6. Five ACEL students named to CFAES Ambassador Team

    Five students from the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership were named as ambassadors for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. 

    CFAES Ambassadors are a team of 20 to 30 students, selected through an application and interview process, to represent the college in a variety of ways.

    The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership is searching for a new assistant professor of leadership in the community leadership program.

    This position, which will be 75% teaching and 25% research, is a tenure-track position with a 9-month appointment. 

  8. Snider attends annual agriculture educator conference

    Carley Snider, from Felicity, attended the 2016 National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

    Selected from a pool of nationwide candidates, Snider was one of 24 pre-service agricultural education students who participated in the Future Agriscience Teacher (FAST) symposium, five day professional development and networking event that was part of the annual NAAE convention.

  9. ACEL alum named director of Ohio State ATI

    Dr. Kristina Boone, an alum of the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership has been named the director for Ohio State ATI. Boone completed her master’s degree in agricultural communication and doctoral degree in extension education at Ohio State in 1991 and 1994 respectively.

  10. Shellhouse completes internship with National FFA Organization
