    The award recognizes those who have brought distinction to themselves and to CFAES through their commitment and leadership.

  2. Data visualization class designed to increase science communication

    The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership (ACEL) has implemented a new course, Data Visualization and Scientific Storytelling in Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (DataVis). This course will benefit anyone interested in building design skills for a real-world environment related to science communication.

    Three of our students competed in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Undergraduate Research Forum on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

    Mariah Stollar, a senior studying community leadership, Marietta, Ohio, "Evaluation of the vice president's conversation on the future of Extension"

    Sarah Landis, a senior studying agriscience education, Farmersville, Ohio, "Factors Influencing Students' Decision to Major in Agriscience Education"

  4. Baughman to be honored CFAES Distinguished Alumni Award

    Clifford Baughman '59, '68 MS has been announced as a recipient of of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Distinguished Alumni Award. Baughman, of Saint Paris, Ohio, recieved both a bachelor's and master's degree in agricultural education from Ohio State.

    The CFAES Alumni Awards will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Baughman will celebrate with the faculty and staff in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership on Friday, March 2, 2018.

  5. Weller completes internship with Ohio 4-H Animal Sciences

    Brittany Weller, of Bellevue, completed an internship this past summer with Ohio 4-H Animal Sciences in Columbus, Ohio.

    During her internship, Weller assisted with creating stations for the 2017 Ohio State Fair Skillathons. She made edits to and crafted new stations while working closely with the superintendents of the species to make sure the skillathons were high quality. During the Ohio State Fair, she set-up, monitored, helped score, and tore down each of her assigned skillathons.

  6. Walls completes internship with FFA Camp Muskingum

    Kayla Walls, of Mendon, completed an internship with FFA Camp Muskingum this past summer in Carrollton, Ohio.

  7. Sprang completes internship with Ohio Pork Council

    Alison Sprang, of Lakeville, completed a communication internship this past summer for the Ohio Pork Council in Columbus, Ohio.

    Sprang took on a project to help bring local producers to county commission meetings and discuss the positive impact hog production has in the community. She identified, tracked and facilitated the meetings. Along with assisting with social media, press releases and any other communication and marketing tasks, she also managed the pork stand during the Ohio State Fair in the Taste of Ohio Cafe.

  8. Ohio State agriscience education students celebrate National Teach Ag Day

    Ohio State’s agriscience education students celebrated the annual National Teach Ag Day on September 21, 2017. Each September, the National Teach Ag Campaign celebrates the profound impact agriculture teachers across the nation make in their schools and communities on National Teach Ag Day.
     
    Outreach and celebration for the agricultural education profession was done at Farm Science Review, an annual event coordinated and hosted by The Ohio State University at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio.
     

  9. Heiby and Nicol selected for national agricultural education symposium

    Ohio State agriscience education students Logan Heiby and Frances Nicol were selected to attend the Future Agriscience Teacher (FAST) Symposium as part of the National Association of Agricultural Educators’ (NAAE) annual conference in December in Nashville, Tennessee.
